gylc.
this june was supposed to be one packed holidays, granted that i had multiple deabte trainings, church events and mugging to do (supposedly), and these were all not very negotiable. they had to be done.
on top of this list, i innitially had pre-u sem and gylc.
i told myself, that there was really just too much to do. especially considering that midyears is straight after hols and comp is straight after midyears.
i had to give up something for sure. pre-u sem would take up the first week. emerge the second, and gylc the third and fourth. i had to make a choice.
seeking the advice of certain seniors, i made up my mind. and now i wonder if i sought the right seniors.
i went for pre-u sem because they said it's better than gylc for your resume
it takes up less time (5days vs 13 days)
and i was really too lazy to bother writting those sponsor letters.
now thinking back, these should have mattered the least.
i dont really have to worry abt the resume and what nought. i've to go for a S cube seminar and am nominated for a dialogue session with the PM. i've got wahtever conferences i need for my resume. that and the fact that deabte alwasy looks good.
i ended up wasting more time going for pre-u sem because i didnt study for the mids anyways and imran was going for gylc. we could've better utilized our time by going for the same conferences.
andrea had offered to help me with the letters saying she had the necessary connections. i should've just be more willing to work a bit.
after all, the real criterion for choosing one seminar over the other shoudl be the program. they had told me that pre-u sem was good and gylc was crap. but having been thru pre-u sem, i'm quite ready to take that back. we did have good people (not all) at pre-u sem to talk to us, but the questions people asked them was just a waste of time.
and all that aside, the experience does count. washington and ny. thats not just anyplace although i was hoping that it were to be at vienna and the other european countries instead. but nonetheless, whoa. washington. ny. sigh.
and i heard UH-HUM news about something abt UH-HUM someone and doing UH-HUM wild things...
oh well. all will be restored if i can go to wales and next year. and than i can go rally kk and luvis to go gylc next year. i think it will be at vienna than.
but before that, i must go revise some math, so i can claim i did spend at least half a day preparing for it.
and speaking of which, GP mids was the most boring exam ever.
even the insane difficulty of cat high comprehensions is more fulfilling. even if they use words like 'egalitarian' and ask us the implications of 'metal catterpillars'. at least they make logical sense after we've found out the meanings of all the cheem words.
now i cant blame the schl if i fail.
