Horizontal Verticals.

i'm aware the song has got to do with something totally else, but allow me just to take it out of context just this once.

Everything you want - Vertical Horizons
Somewhere they're speaking
Somewhere they're coming in
Oh and it's rising in the back of your mind

You never could get it
Unless you were fed it
Now you're here
And you don't know why

But under skinned knees and the skidmarks
Past the places where you used to learn
You howl and listen
Listen and wait for me
Echos of angels that won't return

He's everything you want
He's everything you need
He's everything inside of you
That you wish you could be
He says all the right things
At exactly the right time
But he means nothing to you
And you don't know why

Waiting for someone to put you together
Waiting for someone to push you away
There's always another
Wound to discover
There's always something more you wish he'd say

chorus

But you'll just sit tight
And watch it unwind
It's only what you're asking for
And you'll be just fine
With all of your time
It's only what you're waiting for

Out of the island
Into the highway
Past the places where you might have turned
You never did notice
You still hide away
Anger of angels that won't return

chorus

while this song speaks of (to me at least) how some ppl can be so (if you allow me to use the word) 'traumatised' to a point where they find it difficult to open up anymore, even when everything seems to be perfect. i wont bother to justify why, will just say i really like the motif of angels. and how the guy gets so frustrated witht he ambiguity of talking about the circumstance in third person, he reveals that he is in fact the first.

but to take it out of context as promised, to quote a veery wise seior, sometimes, in the romance of things, be it wars, intimate realtionships, or just people you've met for only 8 days, there's a certain irrational aspect to it that defies and transcends all forms of logic.

and we are all capable of such things

a baby first learns to cry before he/she can understand the cause of hurt. and as we grow older, that same path of functions still apply. as for hurt, so is the flip-side of things.

yet, sometimes, i doubt that sense of irrationality. one too many times, it has caused me to vie for something i wld ultimately regret. in a fit of impulse some might call it. i trust my heart too much, and in that process, realise that i cannot expect other's to abide by my standards of doing things. bumper cars is just one example. if you get what i mean.

idealism is nice to talk about. but when it comes to a world where only the fittest survive, than perhaps idealism shld remain purely as nice talk.

thats the genius of this system he had said.

i wld blabber on about trust being sensative, but promos are coming and i shldnt do this kind of thing.
